CHPRMS Recognizes Excellence in Health Care Marketing and Communications in the Carolinas
CHARLESTON | The Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society honored more than 50 organizations across the Carolinas with awards for excellence during the society’s annual conference and awards banquet Thursday, Nov. 21, in Charleston.
The Wallie and Golden Tusk awards are presented annually to health systems, hospitals, non-profit health care organizations and other health care facilities for their outstanding marketing and communications efforts from purpose, concept and design to production, execution and results.
Participants compete in more than two dozen categories, including print, web design, video, publications and campaigns, podcasts and others. A panel of marketing communications professionals from around the country selects the winners.
The Best of Show award was presented to UNC Health for its cancer care – new patient guide. The coveted Best of Show award is determined by top scores and comments from the judges.

The annual CHPRMS Wallie and Golden Tusk Awards competition began in 1978 and is exclusive to the region for hospitals, health systems, medical practices, specialty clinics, senior care organizations, insurers, non-profits, pharmaceutical or medical equipment manufacturers and other health care facilities.
